FDA-approved Fraxel Method: Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks

Are you ready for a way to get rid of age spots and fine lines without surgery? Fraxel treatment might be the way to go. But what is Fraxel treatment? The Fraxel method is an FDA-approved laser technology that reduces the appearance of wrinkles, improves skin pigmentation, shrinks stretch marks, and decreases sun damage. The revolutionary treatment renews the skin’s surface and restores a youthful glow and builds confidence. Here’s what you need to know:

What is Fraxel?

Vivia Center offers Fraxel Laser Treatment using Advanced Fractional Technology that can go deep into your dermal layer for optimal results. Think of your skin as a digital photo that is delicately touched up one spot at a time. Fraxel treatment, likewise, affects a fraction of tissue at a time with thousands of microscopic laser columns—each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle. Then your body takes care of the rest. The laser columns stimulate a natural healing process that works from the inside out, replacing damaged tissue with younger, smoother, healthier skin.

How It Works

Our Advanced Fractional technology is a revolutionary laser skin resurfacing method using Sciton’s most advanced laser in the market.  Unlike full field resurfacing which removes the entire surface area of a treatment site, Sciton’s technology ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin, covering a fraction of the total treatment area. This action initiates the body’s wound healing response while leaving the surrounding tissue intact for rapid healing. The benefits of this technology include increased patient comfort, shorter healing times, and tunable results that can range from subtle to dramatic.

What to Expect

When you arrive, the clinical technician will clean the treatment area and apply a cream to desensitize the treatment area, which can take up to an hour. After the cream takes effect, the cream is removed and the procedure begins. Each case is different, but generally, patients feel a “pins and needles” sensation during the procedure. The treatment itself takes about 20-30 minutes, not including the numbing period.

When You See Results

Immediately following the procedure your skin will feel and look red, similar to a sunburn. To help ease discomfort, ice packs can be used for a duration of 10 minutes at a time. We also recommend arnica gel that we can provide for better healing. The redness will subside over the course of 2-5 days and patients can resume normal activities and even wear make-up. If you plan to have the treatment for a special occasion like a wedding or family reunion, plan the procedure at least 2-3 weeks in advance.
